On March 1, 2026, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) released a statement on Saturday, February 28, stating that the US military had struck targets including the command and control facilities of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iranian air defenses, missile sites, and unmanned aerial vehicle launch sites. CENTCOM also released a striking video of the US military’s strikes on Iran.
In a post on the social media platform X, CENTCOM stated that the US military, in its massive operation called “Fury of the Ages” against Iran, had unprecedentedly used “single-directional attack drones for the first time.” These low-cost drones are currently carrying out strike missions for the United States.
“As the President has stated, our goal is to defend the American people by eliminating the imminent threat posed by the Iranian regime,” CENTCOM said. “The President has ordered bold action. CENTCOM forces are delivering overwhelming and sustained strikes against the Iranian regime.”
CENTCOM also released another video showing US missiles being launched at Iran.
In a statement, CENTCOM said that the US and its partner forces began striking Iranian targets at 1:15 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, with the aim of dismantling the security apparatus of the Iranian regime and targeting locations posing imminent threats. The strike targets included the command and control facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iranian air defenses, missile sites, unmanned aerial vehicle launch sites, and military airfields.
Commander of CENTCOM, Brad Cooper, stated that the President had ordered bold action, and brave soldiers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard were responding to the call.
The statement mentioned that following the initial wave of strikes by the US and partner forces, CENTCOM forces successfully defended against hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks. There have been no reports of US military personnel casualties or combat-related injuries. The damage to US military facilities was minimal and did not impact the operational effectiveness.
“During the first few hours of the operation, the US military launched precision munitions from the air, land, and sea,” the statement said. “In addition, CENTCOM’s ‘Scorpion Strike’ special forces unit utilized low-cost one-way attack drones for the first time in combat.”
CENTCOM stated that the “Fury of the Ages” operation represents the largest gathering of US military firepower in the region in a generation.
