Starlux Airlines held a grand inaugural ceremony for the “Taipei – Phoenix” direct flight route in Phoenix on January 15th. Chiyao Chi, Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Starlux Airlines CEO Chia Chien-hua, and representatives from various sectors witnessed this important milestone together.
During his speech, Chiyao Chi mentioned that with Arizona becoming a key location for Taiwan’s semiconductor industry globally, Phoenix has gradually become a second home for many Taiwanese families. He expressed hope that the opening of the Starlux Taipei – Phoenix direct flight route will further promote close exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in industries, technology, and talent.
Starlux Airlines is the first airline to announce the opening of a direct flight route from Taipei to Phoenix in Asia and the second Taiwanese airline to fly directly to Phoenix after China Airlines. The inaugural flight was personally flown by Starlux Airlines Chairman and included VIP guests such as Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and city officials. The route will initially operate three times a week, with plans to increase to four times a week by March.
This achievement signifies a closer bond between Taipei and Phoenix, enhancing connectivity and facilitating more opportunities for collaboration and growth between the two regions. The new direct flight route is expected to stimulate tourism, business ventures, and cultural exchanges, further strengthening the ties between Taiwan and Arizona.
