Chongqing Blood Donation Vehicle Sparks Controversy at School, Criticized for Targeting Children

Recently, in Pengshui County, Chongqing, several high schools have seen blood donation vehicles drive onto campus, organizing voluntary blood donation activities for teachers and students. This news quickly became a hot topic on January 23 and sparked heated discussions among netizens, with the vast majority expressing disapproval of this practice.

According to a video released by the Xinjing Daily, a blood donation vehicle was parked on the campus with a banner that read “2026 National Middle School of Pengshui Autonomous County” and other related information.

On January 22, the Qianjiang Central Blood Station in Chongqing informed the Xinjing Daily that this activity was organized in cooperation with the school, and the blood donors were students and teachers over 18 years old who met the physical requirements.

Staff members of the National Middle School of Pengshui County stated that the students who donated blood did so voluntarily.

Following the release of this news, it sparked intense discussions among netizens, with nearly 800 comments under the video expressing anger and discontent.

User “M玥M天M” wrote: “How dare they target children!! Who approved this?!”

User “五凡夏2K” commented: “Is there no line to be drawn? Why target students, don’t they have the choice to donate blood themselves?”

User “不想說話的白貓” expressed: “Extremely shameless, eating people without spitting out the bones.”

Some netizens challenged the argument that those over 18 years old are “volunteering” to donate blood.

User “三石夜話” said: “At least they would be in their last year of high school at 18, preparing for college entrance exams. Why allow them to donate blood? What were they thinking?”

User “sweetmsbaby” added: “There are not many high school seniors who are 18 years old, and shouldn’t parental consent also be required?”

User “Utopia423” remarked: “It’s clear that once it enters the school, forcing students to donate blood is no different.”

User “xi19950827” speculated: “Because adults are hard to deceive, college students are also difficult to deceive, so they have no choice but to target high school students who are confined on campus.”

Some netizens even linked this incident to the widespread issue of forced organ harvesting in China, questioning whether it was a way to collect DNA for organ harvesting.

User “yellowsunnie” asked: “Are they looking for organ sources again??”

User “心兒20152” replied to this discussion, stating: “Getting to the point.”
