American Man Wins $100,000 by Trusting his intuition to Buy Scratch-off Lottery Ticket

When a person’s fortune comes, it seems like they receive a “notification”. In the state of Arkansas in the United States, there is a man who won a $100,000 jackpot by purchasing a scratch-off lottery ticket based on a “premonition”. He said it felt like someone was telling him to buy the ticket.

According to a report from Associated Press on January 20, the man named Thomas McCawley lives in Tontitown. After finishing his lunch one day, on his way back home, he passed by a store and suddenly felt the urge to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket.

McCawley told the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery that he usually buys a $5 scratch-off ticket, but on that particular day, he was drawn to a different kind of ticket.

“I just had a feeling. You could say it was like it was speaking to me,” he said.

When he found out he had won the $100,000 prize, he was astonished. He recalled, “It just couldn’t be real. It was really hard to go back to work after that.”

He mentioned that he would use a portion of the winnings to buy an accessible vehicle for his mother-in-law, a vehicle that can accommodate wheelchairs.

In Maryland, there was another man who decided at the last minute to purchase a different scratch-off lottery ticket and ended up winning a $50,000 prize. This situation was very similar to McCawley’s.

As reported by Associated Press on January 21, this man from Caroline County told the Maryland Lottery that when he parked at a rest stop on Kent Island on January 9, he already had a specific lottery ticket in mind to buy.

“I had a particular favorite ticket in mind, but when I saw this one right as I was about to make the purchase, this ticket felt new to me, and somehow, I just chose it,” the man said.

He ultimately bought a $5 “20X Cash” ticket. Upon learning he had won $50,000, he immediately called his wife.

“I told her I won $50,000, and it was all hers. But no matter what I said, she just wouldn’t believe it,” he said.

The man also shared that he and his wife decided to save the money as a fund for their grandchildren’s college education.
