Recently, in Hunan Province, a divorced mother took her daughter out to play, and after the outing, she dropped her daughter off at her father’s house. However, the daughter burst into tears and ran after her mother, eventually collapsing due to overwhelming emotions. Surveillance footage showed that many passersby just stood by and watched as the child collapsed, and her rescue efforts were in vain, leading to her tragic death.
According to reports from media outlets such as Kuai Technology on January 14th, this little girl from Hunan had experienced her parents’ divorce since a young age and had been living with her father. On the day of the incident, the mother picked up her daughter as planned for a day out, but upon returning to her father’s house, the little girl didn’t want to part ways. The mother, feeling torn, tried to sneak away while her daughter was distracted, but the girl noticed and cried out while chasing after her.
A video released by the girl’s aunt showed that upon hearing her daughter crying, the mother hastened her steps and then hid behind a car parked on the roadside. Unable to find her mother, the girl anxiously wandered back and forth on the road, eventually collapsing suddenly. Reports stated that the girl was taken to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to death due to delayed rescue efforts, diagnosed as death from cardiogenic shock.
However, some bloggers and netizens claimed that the video was edited and incomplete, suggesting that the mother did not hide behind the car as shown.
Blogger “Azuan Kanshi” posted, stating that after the incident was reported, the girl’s mother faced intense public opinion. The online surveillance video was not complete. The original footage revealed that after the girl fell to the ground, she struggled for several minutes. During this time, more than one person passed by the scene without intervening. Among them, a middle-aged woman stopped and glanced before leaving, while the staff from a nearby store merely watched from afar. It was only when someone finally took action to get the child medical help that the golden opportunity for rescue was missed, leading to the girl’s untimely death.
The girl’s uncle also clarified in a post that the girl’s father said he had taken the child before the mother left and that she did not hide behind the car but left directly. Currently, the video released by the girl’s aunt has been deleted.
