The specific nature of the malfunction was still under investigation.
Shenzhen Airlines’ official Weibo account announced at noon on January 12th that flight ZH9881 (Shenzhen to Hangzhou) experienced a malfunction during ground taxiing. The crew followed procedures to return to the gate for troubleshooting.
The flight eventually took off from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport at 11:20 am and was expected to arrive at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport at 12:50 pm.
Around 11 am on the same day, passengers on board indicated that they had re-boarded and were awaiting takeoff. The crew informed passengers via announcement that the maintenance issue was related to “changing a tire” and provided a QR code link for compensation services due to the flight delay.
Internal staff at Shenzhen Airlines confirmed that the flight had experienced a “mechanical issue” and had successfully resumed after maintenance checks.
