2026 Golden Globe Awards Winners Revealed: ‘Sweet Tea’ Crowned Best Actor

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards were unveiled at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California on the evening of January 11. One of the most eye-catching moments was when 30-year-old actor Timothée Chalamet, who was nominated for the fifth time, won the Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical category for his role in “Marty Supreme”, beating popular contenders like Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time.

Chalamet, nicknamed “Sweet Tea” in the Chinese-speaking world, had previously been nominated four times for his roles in “Call Me by Your Name,” “Beautiful Boy,” “Wonka,” and “A Complete Unknown.” This fifth nomination with “Marty Supreme” marked his first win in the Golden Globe Awards.

The Korean film “No Other Choice,” directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Lee Byung-hun, was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. Lee Byung-hun also received a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical Film for his role, becoming the first Korean actor to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award. The competition among him, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, George Clooney, and Ethan Hawke was one of the most anticipated showdowns of this edition of the Golden Globe Awards.

Rose Byrne won the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical category for “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” defeating the popular choice Emma Stone in “Bugonia.” This was Byrne’s third Golden Globe nomination and her first win as Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.

The new film “Hamnet,” directed by Zhao Ting, won the Best Drama Film award. Team members including producer Stephen Spielberg, director Zhao Ting, and lead actress Jessie Buckley went on stage to receive the award.

Netflix’s animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” won the Best Animated Film award. Surprisingly, the film managed to beat out strong contenders like “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle” and “Zootopia 2” to claim the title.

In a remarkable moment, African-American actress Teyana Taylor took the lead at the Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Supporting Actress for “One Battle After Another.” She tearfully thanked director Paul Thomas Anderson and lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio, dedicating the award to all African-American actors.

The awards ceremony also honored a wide range of categories, including Best Film, Best Director, Trade and Box Office Achievement, Best TV Series, Best Podcast, and Best Original Song. It was a night of celebration and recognition for the outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry.
