Following the successful capture of the Venezuelan dictator Maduro by the US military, the US Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, also known as the “Night Stalkers” Aviation Regiment, has been prominently featured in the media. Recently, the Night Stalkers Aviation Regiment was deployed to the UK to carry out a mission to detain an oil tanker, but many believe this could be a diversion. The true target of the “Night Stalkers” is suspected to be high-ranking officials in Iran, possibly even Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.
The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment is equipped with approximately 190 different types of helicopters, including MH-47G heavy lift helicopters, Black Hawk series special operations helicopters, and MH-6M light special operations helicopters.
The Black Hawk series special operations helicopters used by the Night Stalkers Aviation Regiment include: the MH-60L Utility Helicopter, MH-60M Utility Helicopter, and the MH-60M DAP Armed Assault Helicopter. These helicopters are equipped with long air-to-air refueling probes on their right sides, greatly extending their range for long-range raids. Among these helicopters, the MH-60M DAP Armed Assault Helicopter is particularly favored by special operations forces.
In addition to the utility helicopters, the MH-60M DAP Armed Assault Helicopter is a model relied upon by special forces.
