On January 8th, it was officially announced that Li Xu, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy Commander of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently under investigation.
Public information shows that Li Xu previously worked in the central state agencies. Later, he served as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Bingzhi Corps in Xinjiang as an aid to Xinjiang, and in 2012 was transferred to be a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Division Commander of the Twelfth Division of the Corps, responsible for investment attraction, park management, and other tasks. In November 2017, he was transferred to the Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the Corps.
In June 2022, Li Xu was appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and Vice President of the Communist Party of China Xinjian Group Company.
Before his downfall, Li Xu held positions as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy Commander of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Vice President of the Xinjian Group Company, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Corps, and Secretary of the Work Committee of the Party Committee of the Corps’ direct subordinate organs. In addition, Li Xu also served as the President of the Red Cross Society of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
Li Xu is the second mid-level official reported to fall from grace in 2026.
