Shanghai Metro Station Sees Large Amount of Pollution for the Second Time in Two Months

On January 7th around 6:30 am, a large amount of sewage appeared in the transfer passage between Loushanguan Road Station of Shanghai Metro Line 15 and Line 2, with a noticeable foul odor at the scene, causing inconvenience to passengers. This is the second similar incident at this station within two months.

Passengers reported on January 7th that there was standing water on the floor of the passage emitting a bad smell. Many citizens expressed their complaints online.

Shortly after, the official Weibo account of “Shanghai Metro shmetro” stated that around 6:30 am that day, sewage overflowed from the sewage pipes managed by Paris Spring Shopping Mall, affecting the transfer passage of Loushanguan Road Station of Lines 15/2 located nearby.

At 8:23 am, the “Shanghai Metro shmetro” Weibo account mentioned that the sewage cleanup in the transfer passage of Loushanguan Road Station is nearly complete, and passengers can now pass through normally.

Some netizens pointed out a similar incident that occurred on November 16th of the previous year.

According to information released by the Shanghai Metro operating company, on November 16, 2025, a similar incident took place in the transfer passage of Loushanguan Road Station due to sewage overflow from the same shopping mall.
