High-level girlfriend of phone scammer found curling up on the streets of West Harbor, plagued by illnesses.

A 20-year-old TikTok female internet celebrity from Fujian province, Umi (real name Wu Zhenzhen), was recently found wandering the streets of Sihanoukville in Cambodia with fractured legs and in a confused state of mind. Local hospital tests showed positive results for methamphetamine and ketamine in her hair, along with multiple health issues. Many netizens pointed out that Wu Zhenzhen had previously admitted on social media to being a “gang leader’s woman,” and related screenshots sparked discussions.

According to the China News Weekly, multiple netizens indicated that in the comment section of Wu Zhenzhen’s TikTok account, several users referred to her as the “gang leader’s woman,” to which Wu Zhenzhen replied with “used to be.” “Gang leader” refers to the head of a scam gang, abbreviated as the gang leader, meaning the top-level manager in a scam operation.

Wu Zhenzhen revealed that in March 2025, she went to Cambodia through a friend’s introduction to work in the service industry. During her work there, she met a boyfriend, but they later broke up. Regarding the reason for her living on the streets, she claimed it was due to her limited mobility and poor health condition. Her landlord was concerned about her safety, so he kicked her out.

She mentioned having vague memories and said that she had been locked up by someone for a few days but couldn’t explain the reasons or the location where she was held. She also mentioned several times that she worked as a service worker in Cambodia but refused to elaborate on the specific job duties.

Currently, she is receiving treatment at Tongji Hospital in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The hospital director stated that upon admission, she had symptoms of coughing, asthma, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, difficulty urinating, and overall weakness. After examination, she was diagnosed with lung infection, pleurisy, pleural effusion, urinary retention, as well as somatic symptom disorder and hypoalbuminemia. “After several days of treatment, her vital signs stabilized, her appetite increased, and she showed a willingness to communicate actively.”

Earlier reports from mainland China media indicated that in April 2025, Wu Zhenzhen falsely claimed to be working in Zhejiang and secretly traveled to Cambodia, continuously concealing her whereabouts from her family through video calls and requested over 80,000 yuan from her father within nine months.

When she was discovered on December 26, 2025, she was huddled on the streets of Sihanoukville, with bruises all over her legs, fractured knees, holding CT scans, and in a depressed state, appearing completely different from her past glamorous self.

Wu Zhenzhen had previously cultivated an upscale image on social media, dressing elegantly and occasionally posting videos of her nightlife in bars. However, recently, she was seen wandering the streets of Cambodia with disheveled hair, a stark contrast to her former glamorous appearance.

Later, a photo of Wu Zhenzhen eating “eight treasure porridge” at a relief station was exposed. Some netizens shocked the claim that Wu Zhenzhen could only consume liquid eight treasure porridge because “her teeth were all pulled out,” and her body was so damaged that “it was unable to be further exploited.” Although this chilling statement has not been officially confirmed, it has sparked discussions among the public.

Wu Zhenzhen’s TikTok account “umi” saw an increase in fans from the original 24,000 to 44,000. Many people have left comments under her videos, hoping for her safe return home soon.

In a report by Da Xiang News, Wu Zhenzhen’s father, Mr. Wu, expressed great distress over his daughter’s situation of being stranded on the streets of Cambodia, tearfully saying: “I am a farmer, doing odd jobs at home, I really don’t know how to bring her back.”

In a report by Feng Mian News, Wu Zhenzhen’s mother, Ms. Xie, mentioned that they received a phone call from a number associated with Sihanoukville, Cambodia, informing them that she was in the hospital and needed her family to come and pick her up. However, she and her husband have never traveled abroad and are seeking government assistance to bring their daughter home.

On January 4th, the official Weibo account of the “Chinese Embassy in Cambodia” stated that on January 3rd, Wu Zhenzhen was found in a local hospital in critical condition, and she was subsequently transferred to another hospital for treatment. Wu Zhenzhen admitted that she was enticed by a “high-paying job” to come to Cambodia.
