Porsche Central Plains Zhengzhou “Closed Shop and Fled” – Porsche China Response

In response to the controversy surrounding the closure of the Porsche Central Plains Center in Zhengzhou, Porsche China announced today (January 5) that it had officially terminated the dealership agreement with the Zhengzhou Central Plains Porsche Center on December 31, 2025, and reserved the right to take further legal action.

Porsche China staff members stated to the Daily Economic News on January 5, 2026: “Considering that the Zhengzhou Central Plains Porsche Center violated the Porsche dealership agreement, their actions seriously damaged the legal rights and interests of Porsche China and customers, and had a detrimental impact on the brand’s reputation. Porsche China has terminated the relevant dealership agreement and will pursue responsibility according to the law.”

The “closure and fleeing” incident involving the Porsche Central Plains in Zhengzhou began on December 23, 2025. That evening, several netizens posted on social media platforms revealing that the Zhengzhou Central Plains Porsche Center located in the Central Plains International Auto City in Zhengzhou suddenly became “abandoned.” The showroom vehicles were almost entirely cleared out, and both sales staff and management could not be reached. This sudden event quickly sparked consumer rights protection concerns, involving amounts ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of yuan.

According to reports, several employees of the center disclosed that on December 22, the store was still operating normally, with customers completing car pickups that day. However, on the morning of December 23, when employees arrived at work, they found that all showroom vehicles had been removed, top management was unreachable, employees were completely unaware of the situation beforehand, and some had not received their salaries for several months.

The Porsche Central Plains in Zhengzhou owners’ rights protection group has reported that the number of group members has exceeded three hundred, with issues mainly focused on the refund of car purchase deposits and the interruption of after-sales services. Deposit amounts range from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of yuan, with one car owner ordering a Porsche Panamera GTS worth 1.88 million yuan, paying a deposit of 500,000 yuan but was unable to receive the car. Several consumers who ordered Porsche 911 also paid a 500,000 yuan deposit but did not receive the vehicle.

Additionally, many consumers had previously purchased pre-paid after-sales services such as “lifetime maintenance” from the store, but these services are currently unable to be fulfilled, involving amounts mostly in the tens of thousands of yuan range.

On December 25, 2025, Porsche China responded to the suspicions of the closure and fleeing incident of the Zhengzhou Central Plains Porsche Center, stating that it “has been closely monitoring the abnormal operation of the center and is cooperating with the police and relevant departments for on-site verification.”

For customers who have ordered vehicles but are affected by the pledge of the certificate of conformity, Porsche China stated that it is actively negotiating with the parties involved and the credit bank to explore reasonable and legal solutions. Customers affected by after-sales services can still continue to use and enjoy Porsche’s official maintenance packages and original warranty services at other Porsche Centers.

Porsche China has also clarified the follow-up arrangements to car owners through text messages, including customer files, post-sale vehicle services, and unused Porsche official extended warranty services and service packages, which can be transferred to the nearby Zhengzhou Zhengkai Porsche Center for continued use. For services requiring transfer, car owners can call the Porsche customer service center before January 6, 2026. For vouchers and after-sales products valid only at the Zhengzhou Central Plains Porsche Center or Dong’an Group, owners should promptly negotiate a solution with Dong’an Group.

Public information shows that currently, Porsche has only one authorized dealership in Henan at the Zhengzhou Zhengkai Porsche Center, and in Guizhou, only the Guiyang Guanshanhu Porsche Center remains.
