Costco Taiwan Raises Membership Fee to 1500 NTD Starting in April

Costco Taiwan announced today (5th) the adjustment of membership fees in Taiwan, with Gold Star and Business Member annual fees both increased to NT$1,500. The new membership fees will officially take effect from April 1, 2026.

This is the first time Costco Taiwan has adjusted its membership fees since September 2016, nearly 10 years without any changes, making it one of the locations with relatively low frequency of fee adjustments among major markets worldwide.

According to the official website of Costco Taiwan, starting from April 1, 2026, the Gold Star membership fee will be adjusted from NT$1,350 to NT$1,500, the Business Member fee from NT$1,150 to NT$1,500, and the Business Add-On card fee from NT$900 to NT$1,500. The Diamond Member fee remains unchanged, still offering exclusive services. Members using their cards for most purchases in Costco Taiwan’s stores and online shopping will receive 2% cash back, with an annual maximum cash back of NT$30,000.

Additionally, each Business Add-On cardholder will be entitled to a free Household card, allowing for a 1+2 companion ratio, just like the existing Gold Star card.

Costco emphasizes its commitment to providing high-quality products and services to members at reasonable prices. Starting from April 1, 2026, each Business Add-On cardholder will be entitled to a free Household card. (However, new applications or renewal of Business Add-On cards before the end of March 2026, with the previous membership fee, will not be eligible for an additional free Household card.)

Furthermore, Costco stated that for members expiring after April 2026, regardless of when they apply for renewal, they will be subject to the new membership fee. (However, for members expiring in April 2026, if they renew in March, they will still be subject to the old membership fee.) Expired members who renew after April 2026 will also be charged the new membership fee.

Costco mentions that it will continue to invest in logistics optimization and establish professional service centers such as hearing aid, optical, and gas stations. Following the adjustment of membership fees, they will further expand product discounts (e.g., during Double 11 and Black Friday promotions), deepen the price advantage of the Kirkland Signature private brand, and pass on every saved cost through highly competitive prices and premium products to all members, offering great value in return.
