A female influencer from Fujian was found wandering on the streets of Cambodia, appearing haggard with suspected fractured legs, drawing attention from the public. The father of the woman stated that a few days ago, his daughter asked for money claiming it was for medical treatment. However, when the police contacted him, he found out that his daughter had left the country in April last year and was suspected to be in Cambodia.
Recently, several netizens posted online claiming that a female influencer from Fujian was wandering on the streets in Cambodia with injured legs.
According to the posts, on December 26th last year, a Chinese woman was abandoned near a hotel in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, with a suspected knee injury. Photos showed the woman looking haggard, holding a CT scan picture, and her passport information indicated she was from Fujian with the name Wu Mengzhen.
Some netizens discovered that the woman had a short video platform account with 24,000 followers, and her IP location was in Cambodia. Her last video was posted on December 6, 2025, in Cambodia.
On the morning of January 4th, Upstream News contacted villagers from the same village as Wu Mengzhen. They introduced Wu Mengzhen as a resident of a village in a town under Jian’ou City, Nanping, Fujian, who is around 20 years old. Villagers learned from Wu Mengzhen’s father that she has not returned home yet.
Contact was made with Wu Mengzhen’s father, Mr. Wu, who confirmed that the short video platform account with 24,000 followers belonged to his daughter. The pictures of her wandering the streets online and passport information were also confirmed to be hers. Since December 26th last year, they have not been able to contact their daughter, and he has reported her missing.
Mr. Wu explained that his daughter was born in 2005. After completing high school, she dropped out to work elsewhere. She had told the family before that she was working in Zhejiang, but even after starting work, she frequently asked the family for money. The family had already transferred more than 80,000 yuan to her. In November 2025, Mr. Wu stopped sending money to his daughter, but they still kept in touch and video chatted. On December 26th, Wu Mengzhen contacted the family saying she had leg problems and needed money for medical treatment, so the family quickly sent her 2,200 yuan.
Mr. Wu mentioned that on the same day of December 26th, some relatives saw pictures of Wu Mengzhen on the streets on a social media platform, and they sent them to him. However, they could not reach their daughter anymore, so they reported to the police. It was then they found out that their daughter had gone to Cambodia in April 2025. Mr. Wu expressed his hope for the safe return of his child.
According to Jímù News, attempts to contact the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia and the consulate office in Sihanoukville were unsuccessful.
