From New York Stock Exchange to Nasdaq: Ming Chiang, CEO of Hello Taiwan, representing the American Red Cross, rang the closing bell at the end of 2025.
On December 30, 2025, Ming Chiang, the CEO of Hello Taiwan and a philanthropic board member of the American Red Cross, was invited to ring the bell at Nasdaq, representing the American Red Cross to mark the closing bell of the day.
This not only symbolized the successful conclusion of the trading year of 2025, but also marked an extraordinary milestone: Ming Chiang, who had rung the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange with Red Cross partners on January 2 of the same year to celebrate the new year, was once again invited to ring the bell at Nasdaq on the second-to-last trading day of the year, becoming one of the few representatives to transcend humanitarian spirit and economic hope across both major exchanges in the same year.
2025 was a year full of challenges. In his forthcoming speech, Ming Chiang pointed out that the mission of the American Red Cross was continuously tested throughout the year, facing record-breaking wildfires, severe storms, and various emergency situations, with volunteers and partners always at the forefront.
“We search for safe shelters for families in the late hours, transport life-saving blood at critical moments, and provide hope for those who have lost everything,” Ming Chiang said, emphasizing that ringing the closing bell not only marked the end of a trading day, but also celebrated the embodiment of “humanity’s power” in action. He stressed that as disasters become more frequent, establishing a strong and resilient social system is crucial, inviting all sectors to continue supporting the Red Cross mission in the upcoming 2026.
As a Red Cross volunteer with over ten years of experience, Ming Chiang’s invitation also symbolized the international community’s high recognition of Hello Taiwan’s long-term dedication to public welfare and efforts to connect Taiwan with international humanitarian aid. He stated that the performance of the stock market in 2025 showcased the vitality of the economy, and through the bell-ringing ceremony, he hoped to convey a firm belief: no matter what challenges lie ahead, as long as all sectors of society work together, the future will surely be better.
The American Red Cross provides shelter, food, and emotional support during disasters through volunteers and generous donations; supplies approximately 40% of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports veterans and service members.
