According to a report by Jinxian County Emergency Management Bureau on the evening of January 1, 2026, around 22:25 on December 31, 2025, an incident of personnel asphyxiation occurred at Longlai Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Jinxian County, Jiangxi, where 3 people died despite rescue efforts and 3 others were hospitalized for treatment.
A preliminary investigation reported by Xingdao Global Network revealed that the cause of the accident was the use of a closed production method in the centrifuge room and drying room of the company. An air compressor was used to generate air centrally, which was then transported through pipelines to various workshops and connected via hoses to full-face masks with self-breathing apparatus worn by employees. At around 22:20 on December 31, the air compressor malfunctioned and stopped, causing a pressure loss in the system, resulting in insufficient gas supply and the occurrence of the asphyxiation incident.
