On the evening of December 29, 2025, the Greater Philadelphia Asian American Business Group (AABAGP) held a holiday gathering at the Billionaire Club in Philadelphia. The event brought together around a hundred community elites. David Oh, Chairman of the Board of the Greater Philadelphia Asian American Business Group and former Philadelphia City Council member, hosted the event.
Former Philadelphia City Councilor Blondell Reynolds Brown presented her newly published book, “Walking a Tightrope Backward in High Heels,” which was released in June of this year, as a prize at the event’s raffle. Brown, who served as a city councilor from 2000 to 2019, is currently a senior advisor at Frank DiCicco Associates. Brown expressed that after 20 years as a councilor, she felt it was time for a change. It took her five years to write about her personal experiences as a city councilor, reflecting on the challenges she faced transitioning from a councilor to a single mother, hoping to inspire others.
Brown’s book delves into her journey and offers insight into the highs and lows she experienced during her time in public service. The audience at the Billionaire Club had the opportunity to have their copies signed by Brown herself, creating a memorable moment for the lucky winners of the raffle.
The holiday gathering organized by the Greater Philadelphia Asian American Business Group provided a platform for meaningful discussions and reflections on the trials and triumphs of public service. With attendees from various sectors of the community, the event fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared experiences among the distinguished guests present.
As the night came to a close, the festive atmosphere at the Billionaire Club encapsulated the spirit of unity and celebration, marking the end of the year on a high note for the Greater Philadelphia Asian American Business Group and its members. The event served as a reminder of the importance of coming together to support and uplift one another in both personal and professional endeavors.
