Taiwan Ministry of National Defense releases footage of Taiwanese F-16V monitoring Chinese J-16 fighter jets.

The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense released footage today (29th) of F-16V (Block20) and navy Tian Dan monitoring Chinese Communist J-16 fighter jets in response to the announcement by the Chinese Communist Party of military exercises around Taiwan. The monitoring of F-16V against Chinese J-16 aircraft symbolizes the ability of the Taiwanese military to keep track of enemy movements.

The People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theater Command announced exercises around Taiwan from 8 am to 6 pm on the 30th, involving live-fire drills in the five designated sea and airspace areas around Taiwan.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China posted a short video on Facebook titled “Resilient Taiwan, Firmly Guarding,” showing naval exercises of the Ta Chiang-class ship at sea, personnel in the ship’s combat room on duty, as well as army M1A2T tanks, Air Force E-2K early warning planes, emergency fighter take-offs, drone operations, and coast-to-ship missile (referred to as “missiles” on the mainland) launch vehicle combat training.

The Ministry stressed the importance of being prepared with the motto “Forgetting the war will be dangerous, and being prepared is self-strengthening.” The Republic of China continues to demonstrate its determination for self-defense to the world, being a key factor in regional peace and security. Taiwan walks alongside its democratic partners, ensuring the stability and safety of the region and the country persistently.

The Ministry of National Defense disclosed footage today of Air Force F-16V (Block20) monitoring Chinese J-16 fighters and navy Tian Dan class ship monitoring Chinese ships, showcasing the effective monitoring capabilities of the Taiwanese military towards enemy movements. The F-16V (Block20) uses the AN/AAQ-33 “Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod” to monitor J-16, demonstrating strong monitoring capabilities.
