Photo Gallery: Fairy-tale Ice Castle Lets Visitors Enjoy Winter Wonderland

Last Saturday, on December 27th, the giant ice and snow castle built by Ice Castles in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, officially opened to the public, attracting a large number of visitors to come and enjoy the endless fun brought by the ice and snow.

The castle is quite magnificent, covering about an acre of frozen land. It features arches decorated with ice columns, ice tunnels, thrones, fountains, slides, and other unique structures. Additionally, there are ice towers that shimmer with colorful lights according to music melodies, creating a magical atmosphere. Especially at night, the interior of the entire castle is illuminated, making it feel truly dreamlike.

Ice Castles was founded by Brent Christensen from Utah in 2011. This innovative idea was initially created for his six children and family to enjoy more outdoor activities. However, because it is suitable for all ages and perfect for a family experience, the project quickly developed into a popular entertainment brand in North America.

Currently, in addition to New Hampshire, the company has branches in Minnesota, Colorado, and Alberta, Canada, among other locations.

It is understood that these ice and snow castles are constructed by ice sculptors who spend thousands of hours and use around 25 million pounds of ice columns to build them manually. They first let water flow on a structure similar to a chain-link fence to create a large number of ice columns. Then, they hand-stack these ice columns and use a semi-melted mixture as an adhesive to connect them once they freeze.
