Which New York stores are open for business on Christmas Day?

On December 25th, Christmas Day, while most well-known stores and restaurants are closed for the holiday, there are still some shops in New York City that remain open to cater to citizens who may have forgotten to purchase essential items for the occasion.

CVS drugstores for the most part will operate as usual, but it is advisable to confirm their holiday opening hours in advance. Walgreens supermarkets will also have most of their stores open on Christmas Day, although not all pharmacy departments may be operational, so customers are advised to check online for real-time updates. Other stores that will be open include 7-Eleven, Albertsons, Circle K, Safeway, and a few others.

On the other hand, popular department stores such as Target, Trader Joe’s, ShopRite, Walmart, Whole Foods, Costco, ALDI, and Sam’s Club will all be closed for the holiday.

Meanwhile, all post offices of the United States Postal Service will be closed, causing mail delivery services to be unavailable. UPS and FedEx will also cease operations on Christmas Day. Banks will be closed, and the New York Stock Exchange will be shut down. All federal, state, and city government offices, as well as courts, will also be closed.
