Breaking News: Fire and Explosion at Nursing Home in Pennsylvania

Local fire and police officials have reported a fire and explosion at a nursing home in Pennsylvania, and rescue teams are responding to a large-scale casualty event.

The nursing home, known as “Silver Lake Nursing Home,” is located in Bristol Township, approximately 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Jim O’Malley, an official from Bucks County, stated in a release that part of the building has collapsed. He added that agencies from both Pennsylvania and New Jersey are involved in the rescue efforts.

Authorities informed the Associated Press that the explosion appears to be gas-related.

ABC News reported, citing an unnamed official, that individuals are believed to be trapped inside. The official mentioned that rescue teams are working diligently to safely evacuate everyone and are investigating the cause of the explosion.

Ruth Miller, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, stated, “We understand that there are individuals trapped inside.”

The fire is still spreading, and it’s currently unclear how many people have been injured.

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick posted on Facebook that he is in communication with local officials regarding the explosion at the nursing home. He urged people to steer clear of the area. Governor Josh Shapiro also mentioned that he is staying in contact with local officials and emergency responders.

It is currently uncertain if there are any casualties, and the situation is still unfolding.
