Recently, a chilling air traffic control (ATC) recording has been circulating widely on the internet. In the recording, a pilot of a private aircraft over Rhode Island encountered a mysterious “silver canister-shaped” unidentified flying object (UFO), flying in close proximity alongside the aircraft, causing astonishment among air traffic control personnel.
The pilot described, “It’s right near the tip of my wing,” further noting that the object appeared to be “completely still” in mid-air.
A recording from October revealed that the pilot was flying a Piper PA-32RT-300T Turbo Lance II aircraft at 3,500 feet altitude. In a surprised tone, he reported to the ground team, “We just flew over a weird small object, it looked like a silver canister. Do you have any idea what that could be?”
The pilot elaborated that the object was extremely close to the aircraft, almost at the tip of the wing. He emphasized that around the “completely still” object in mid-air, there were no visible propellers, ropes, or attachments, indicating it was not a conventional drone or balloon.
“It was just hovering there… very strange,” the pilot said.
Faced with this bizarre sighting, air traffic control personnel at Rhode Island’s T.F. Green International Airport, after confirming no other aircraft on radar, couldn’t help but exclaim “creepy.”
Unable to provide a scientific explanation, one controller humorously responded over the radio, “Good luck with the aliens!”
Reports indicated that the object was seen floating near the right wingtip of the Piper PA-32RT-300T Turbo Lance II at 3,500 feet altitude, then flying in parallel with the aircraft before disappearing from view.
Regarding this sighting that has once again stirred attention at the end of 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States issued a statement, mentioning that whenever pilots report “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP), official records are kept. If there are further evidence such as radar data, the report will be forwarded to the UAP task force for in-depth investigation.
Until the official investigation results are released, the “silver canister” has become one of the most popular UFO mysteries of the year.
