46航线航班将在未来两周全部停飞 Stoppage of All Flights on 46 Routes in the Next Two Weeks

Relations between Japan and China continue to deteriorate, with a total of 46 flights on the Japan-China routes being canceled in the next two weeks. However, official data from Japan shows that the number of foreign visitors entering the country in November continues to grow, indicating that the impact of airline capacity adjustments on Japan’s overall tourism market is limited.

According to reports from The Paper, the latest statistics show that from December 23 of this year to January 5 of next year, a total of 46 flights on the Japan-China routes will be canceled. These 46 routes involve 38 airports in both China and Japan.

It is reported that as of January 2026, the number of flights canceled for trips between China and Japan has reached 2,195, with an overall cancellation rate of 40.4%. The canceled flights are mainly concentrated in Osaka, followed by Nagoya, and also involve cities such as Fukuoka, Sapporo, Sendai, and Okinawa. There are only four flights to Tokyo, originating from Changsha, Kunming, Shijiazhuang, and Yantai.

On the 17th, the Japan National Tourism Organization announced that the number of Chinese tourists visiting Japan in November was 562,600, only a slight increase of 3% compared to the same period last year, far lower than the 22.8% growth in October and the 37.5% growth from January to November this year compared to the same period last year.

The Japan National Tourism Organization stated that in November, the number of overseas business and leisure travelers entering Japan was 3.52 million, and it is expected that the total number of inbound visitors in 2025 will exceed 39 million. The total number of foreign visitors is still growing by 10.4% compared to the same period last year, indicating that the Japanese tourism industry is not significantly impacted by the tension in Japan-China relations.
