Photo Gallery: “Home Alone” Gingerbread House Debuts in California, Breaking a Record

On the eve of Christmas, Disney Corporation has created a giant gingerbread house inspired by the McCallister family’s residence from the first two installments of the children’s comedy film “Home Alone”, towering over 25 feet in height. Not only has this creation successfully broken the Guinness World Record, but it has also added a sweet touch to the holiday season.

According to various reports from media outlets, this two-story tall gingerbread house is located at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles. It was open to the public on the evenings of December 18th and 19th, as part of a joint celebration event organized by Disney+ and Hulu to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the classic Christmas movie “Home Alone”.

The scale of this replica building of the McCallister family home is astonishing: approximately 58 feet in length, 42 feet in width, and 25.6 feet in height. Official Guinness World Record certification officer Brittany Dunn announced on the morning of Friday, the 19th, after verifying onsite, that this gingerbread house with a total volume of 44,838 cubic feet has set a new Guinness World Record, breaking the record for “World’s Largest Gingerbread House” that has been held since 2013.

Disney revealed that constructing this gingerbread house required a whopping 5,700 pounds of all-purpose flour, over 4,200 eggs, 4,400 gingerbread bricks, and 800 pieces of roofing tiles. Approximately 20 gallons of edible glue were used during the construction process for structural stability, and the decorations were ultimately completed with 20 pounds of royal icing.

This extraordinary feat of creating a massive gingerbread house not only showcases Disney’s creativity and dedication but also brings joy and wonder to visitors, igniting the festive spirit and spreading holiday cheer in the heart of Los Angeles.
