Former beauty pageant champion and Hong Kong actress Bernice Liu, who left TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited) in 2011, has been gradually fading out of the entertainment industry. Surprisingly, in recent years she has made rare public appearances and recently, netizens shared on social media that they unexpectedly encountered her as a lecturer in a university classroom, sparking widespread attention and discussions online.
In the shared photos, Bernice Liu is seen dressed in a black suit, looking dignified, standing at the lectern, delivering a lecture in English to the students. She gestured emphatically and exuded a strong presence. Netizens commented that the teacher introduced herself as a former TVB star who had acted in many TV dramas, even though many students could not recognize her. The class topic that day was about investing in wine, which was described as very interesting.

According to a report by “Hong Kong 01”, the 46-year-old Bernice Liu has shifted her focus to the business world in recent years, concentrating on developing her wine business. She studied in France and not only obtained a wine sommelier license but also owns a personal vineyard in France. Earlier this year, she was awarded a medal by the French government in recognition of her contributions to promoting French red wine.
Born in Canada, Bernice Liu graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. In 2000, she won the title of Miss Chinese Vancouver and went on to win the 2001 Miss Chinese International Pageant along with the Miss Photogenic award. After signing with TVB in Hong Kong, she hosted programs and starred in dozens of film and television productions, becoming a leading actress at TVB from 2005 to 2010.
On December 17, Bernice Liu shared on her Instagram Stories that she completed a 5-kilometer run on the treadmill and mentioned that she had been feeling under the weather the past week but was slowly recovering.
