Ningbo Woman Terrified: Knife Falls from Sky Narrowly Missed

A woman in the eastern Chinese city of Ningbo narrowly escaped being hit by sharp objects thrown from a height, which was later revealed to have stemmed from a heated dispute between a couple.

According to the Chinese media outlet “羊城晚報” (Sheep City Evening News), on November 29th at noon, a woman in the Fenghua District of Ningbo got into her car after finishing lunch and was about to reverse and leave when a kitchen knife suddenly fell from the sky, crashing heavily less than two meters away from her vehicle. Witnesses said the knife made a loud noise upon impact, causing great fear.

The woman then looked out of the car window and saw another pair of scissors falling from above, narrowly avoiding more serious consequences. She immediately called the police, stating that if the sharp objects hit a person, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Police investigation revealed that the objects were thrown by a couple living in an apartment above. Prior to the incident, a man named Wang and his girlfriend Zhang (pseudonym) had a heated argument over financial issues. During the argument, Zhang retrieved a kitchen knife from the kitchen, which Wang took away. Losing control of his emotions, Wang then threw the knife out of the balcony. Subsequently, Zhang picked up a pair of scissors, which Wang once again threw out of the window.

Wang later expressed regret for his actions, admitting that he acted impulsively at the time without considering the potential serious consequences. Investigators pointed out that his actions put the lives and property of the general public at great risk. Throwing objects from a height is not a trivial matter and can easily lead to irreversible casualties and societal harm.
