NATEA Silicon Valley Chapter Completes Annual Team Handover.

The North America Taiwanese Engineers Association Silicon Valley Chapter (NATEA – SV) held its annual Thanksgiving dinner on December 13th in Santa Clara, California, to review the achievements of the year and complete the transition between the old and new leadership teams.

The event attracted nearly 70 dignitaries, community leaders, members, and Junior NATEA members. Guests included officials such as Office of Economic Affairs Director Ai-Lan Chen, Technology Division Director Hong-Wei Yan, Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission Advisor Han-Wen Li, outgoing NATEA-SV President Johnny Lin, NATEA President Yao-Hung Yang, former NATEA President Golden and his wife, former President Xin-Jie Zhou, Taiwanese Center Northern California Director Chun-Hsiung Yeh, and the newly appointed NATEA-SV President Jenny Lin.

Outgoing President Johnny Lin reviewed the achievements of the previous year, emphasizing the chapter’s core focus on organizing events to facilitate high-quality networking among members, promoting self-growth, particularly encouraging the participation of women and minority groups. He also highlighted three major events from the past year, including the Women’s Empowerment Forum, the US-Taiwan Startup Day, the US-Taiwan Technology Forum, and various other exciting activities.

During his tenure as president, Lin deepened his understanding of how Taiwanese organizations operate and forged partnerships with like-minded individuals, emphasizing the importance of how one treats others over titles.

The nomination committee for the 2026 NATEA Silicon Valley Chapter, chaired by former President Xiang-He Li, selected Jenny Lin as the new President, with Muti Huang and Nicole Chang as Vice Presidents. This marks the first time that women make up the majority of the chapter’s board members and hold the presidency once again.

At the banquet, NATEA President Yao-Hung Yang shared insights on the organizing process and achievements of the 35th anniversary conference in Arizona.

In terms of global expansion, NATEA has been steadily expanding its chapters across various locations in the United States and Canada in recent years, establishing the Youth NATEA program to engage the younger generation and families, creating a multi-generational talent development pipeline. Yang also noted that the themes focused on during the US-Taiwan Technology Forum often predict industry trends approximately three years ahead, showcasing the organization’s foresight. Seven Junior NATEA leaders also presented the development progress of the Youth Organization during the meeting.

To conclude the annual conference, President Yao-Hung Yang presented the annual Service Award on behalf of the total association, commending the outstanding performance of the NATEA Silicon Valley Chapter under the leadership of outgoing President Johnny Lin and thanking him for his long-term contributions to the community.
