The U.S. Federal regulatory agency has announced the recall of two baby products sold on the Amazon platform due to risks of serious injury or even death.
According to the announcement issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday, December 11th, both products were sold on the Amazon platform and violated mandatory safety standards in the United States.
The first recalled product is a baby bath chair sold by BenTalk. Officials from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that the product’s structure is unstable, potentially causing it to tip over while a baby is bathing, leading to serious injuries or drowning.
This product, named “YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats,” is available in four color options: blue, gray, pink, and yellow. It comes with detachable armrests, bottom suction cups, and three toys: a duck, a turtle, and a whale. The recalled bath chair is marked with “Model: YD-1958” on the back.
The CPSC urges consumers who have purchased this bath chair to immediately stop using it and contact BenTalk for a full refund.
The recall notice states: “Consumers should send two photos of the recalled bath chair to BenTalk at [email protected]. The first photo must have ‘Recalled’ written on the front of the chair with a permanent marker and the second photo should show the parts removed and the bath chair disassembled.”
The second recalled product is a wheeled baby walker designed to assist infants who have not yet learned to walk.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that the Uuoeebb brand baby walker has a compact size that can pass through standard door frames. If there are stairs nearby, the baby passing through could face a “lethal fall risk,” thus violating safety standards.
The regulatory agency also warned consumers to be aware of another safety hazard: “These baby walkers have leg openings that allow babies to slide down until their heads get stuck, posing a risk of serious injury or death.”
The walker is available in three colors: gray, black, and pink, with a production batch number 7654 located under the seat.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using this product and follow the steps to contact BaoD for a full refund.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission instructs consumers to “disassemble the baby walker, remove the fabric seat, write ‘Recalled’ on the top of the tray with a permanent marker, and send photos of the recalled product to BaoD at [email protected].”
