On December 13, 2025, Hollywood actress Wenne Alton Davis, who portrayed a female police officer in the popular American TV series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” tragically passed away at the age of 60. She was involved in a fatal accident on December 8 while crossing a street in Manhattan, New York.
Reports from various US media outlets such as “E! News” revealed that Wenne Alton Davis was struck by a left-turning black Cadillac SUV while crossing a street in midtown Manhattan. Eyewitnesses claimed that smoke was seen coming from the SUV’s tires as it made a sudden stop, resulting in Davis collapsing on the ground. Despite being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment, she succumbed to her severe head and body injuries later that night.
Local authorities identified the driver of the SUV as a 61-year-old male who remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. As of December 10, the New York City Police Department’s Highway Traffic Accident Investigation Unit had not filed charges or made any arrests in connection with the incident, indicating that the case is still under review.
Wenne Alton Davis’s agent, Jamie Harris, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram, sharing a photo with Davis and expressing his profound grief and condolences: “There are no words except love for you, my dear friend. Rest in peace, we will always cherish you.”
With nearly 20 years in the entertainment industry, Wenne Alton Davis was not only recognized for her role as a police officer in the 5th season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” but also appeared in various TV series such as “Shameless,” “Blindspot,” “Girls5eva,” “New Amsterdam,” and “9-1-1.” Apart from her acting career, Davis had a long-standing role as a security officer at Kennedy Airport (JFK), leaving many colleagues and fans mourning her untimely passing.
Of note, recent traffic data analysis revealed that since 2022, a total of 118 intersections across different administrative districts in New York City have been classified as “high fatality” or “high injury” locations. Media reports pointed out the common factors contributing to accidents at these intersections, including heavy traffic flow, frequent turning movements, long pedestrian crossing distances, obstructed views, inadequate crossing signal times, illegally parked vehicles near crosswalks, and limited driver visibility.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the cast and crew of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” have faced multiple tragedies in recent years. In 2019, Brian Talatina, who portrayed the Gaslight club’s host, also passed away in Manhattan at the age of 60, adding to the somber events surrounding the production.
