On the evening of May 18th to the morning of May 19th, multiple videos surfaced on the overseas social media platform X, indicating that a shooting occurred at a barbecue stall in the Patriot Community of Chongren Street, Jiangxia District, Wuhan, at around 10 p.m. on the 18th. The videos depicted a person firing shots at outdoor diners.
One video showed a man with a gunshot wound to the head, blood flowing from his mouth and nose, with his upper body covered in bloodstains from the chest to the abdomen. Subsequently, the man’s head was shielded from view.
Reports suggested that the assailant fired at least four shots, resulting in the deaths of two individuals at the scene, with one person collapsing to the ground and another losing consciousness while seated.
The videos revealed the scene littered with bloodstains and debris after the shooting. Witnesses indicated that the man seated on the chair was shot in the head and died on the spot, while another man shot collapsed and succumbed to his injuries on the ground.
Online sources claimed that the gunman fled after firing four shots. The man seated on the chair was reportedly the owner of the establishment, while the individual who fell to the ground was said to be his driver.
A local resident confirmed to Epoch Times that the incident was indeed a case of revenge killing. The assailant rode a bicycle and fired four shots directly at the scene, hitting three people, with one suffering a fatal head wound and uncertainty surrounding the survival of the other two. The resident expressed bewilderment over how the gunman acquired the firearm.
Another eyewitness informed Epoch Times that their friend was present at the scene during the incident. Confirming it was an act of revenge killing, they speculated it might have been related to economic disputes.
