On Tuesday, May 13, Saudi Arabia’s reception of US President Trump made a lasting impression. The royal family not only arranged a grand welcome ceremony but also showed their importance for Trump’s visit through small details, including deploying a McDonald’s food truck.
As part of the meticulously planned and exceptionally personalized welcome ceremony, Saudi Arabia deployed a mobile McDonald’s food truck. According to Newsweek, this shiny double-decker food truck was parked outside a media center called “Media Oasis” to support the President’s visit and the accompanying journalists. It is unclear at this time whether Trump enjoyed the food provided by the McDonald’s truck.
Fox News reported that a White House official confirmed that during Trump’s visit, a McDonald’s mobile food truck was present in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that the American delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia is putting all efforts into providing services for them, including a McDonald’s food truck.
On Tuesday morning, pictures and videos of the food truck spread rapidly on social media, marking the first day of Trump’s visit to the Middle East.
Prominent conservative commentator Benny Johnson posted on the social media platform X, saying, “When President Trump visited, Saudi Arabia brought a mobile McDonald’s.” He also shared a video of the large mobile McDonald’s food truck.
Some netizens commented that the truck was filled with Trump’s favorite fast food, calling the scene “unbelievable,” while others praised Saudi Arabia’s hospitality as “AAA-grade.”
Of particular note is that upon Trump’s arrival in Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally welcomed him at the airport – a rare diplomatic honor.
President Trump’s love for fast food is well-known worldwide. During his first term, he provided self-serve fast food options at White House events.
According to Fox News, his son-in-law Jared Kushner said that after Trump was diagnosed with COVID-19 and recovered in 2020, he requested McDonald’s. His former security detail also revealed that during the 2016 campaign, Trump preferred McDonald’s Egg McMuffins for breakfast. Especially during the 2024 campaign, Trump personally fried French fries for customers at a McDonald’s in Philadelphia and handed the freshly fried fries to customers through the drive-thru window. All of this reflects Trump’s fondness for McDonald’s.
