Approaching the May 1st holiday, a hotel in Liaoning Province, China, experienced a sudden fire today (April 29th), resulting in at least 22 deaths and 3 injuries.
According to CCTV, at 12:25 on April 29th, a fire broke out at a hotel near Sanlizhuang relocation building in Baita District, Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. As of 2 p.m., the accident had resulted in 22 deaths and 3 injuries.
Due to the Chinese Communist Party’s habit of concealing disaster information, the actual situation may be more severe than the official figures released.
Video footage shows thick smoke billowing from the hotel named “Chuniang Hotel,” with intense flames raging, while the cause of the fire remains unclear.
With the May 1st holiday approaching, this fire sent shockwaves through the leadership in Zhongnanhai. Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang both issued instructions emphasizing the need to ensure “social stability” and so on.
