In breaking news from Epoch Times on April 19, 2025, the political thriller movie “The Puppeteers,” produced by New Tang Dynasty (Canada) and New Realm Studios, will be released online on Clean World Cinema on April 25. This film is a thematic sequel to “Claws of the Red Dragon,” reuniting the original behind-the-scenes team to continue its in-depth expose of the Chinese Communist Party’s international repression and global expansion.
Canadian intelligence agent Stella Bolano, played by Canadian actress and singer Amy Rivard, investigates what appears to be a routine suicide case, only to unexpectedly uncover a massive secret network.
She discovers that the Chinese Communist Party not only sets up illegal police stations within Canada but also deeply infiltrates politics, business, and public opinion, manipulating public sentiment. As Stella delves deeper into her investigation, she faces numerous obstacles and even becomes a target for assassination.
She must navigate the treacherous waters of political intrigue and life-and-death struggles while confronting difficult choices regarding her personal beliefs and the safety of her family.
Directed by Kevin Yang, who also directed “Claws of the Red Dragon,” the film is co-written with a gripping storyline. Cinematographer Arthur Cooper returns to capture the award-winning visual style seen in “Claws of the Red Dragon,” presenting Toronto’s resistance and struggles under the shadow of dark forces through stark and chilling visuals.
“The Puppeteers” not only inherits the political realism style of “Claws of the Red Dragon” but also combines elements of espionage, tense action scenes, and profound character portrayals to create a thriller with both artistic value and societal significance.
Director Kevin Yang stated, “The film is based on real events, with the plot closely mirroring reality. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the Chinese Communist Party’s larger transnational suppression operations.”
