Biden’s Letter Revealed by Trump as “Uplifting”

On January 21st, American President Trump (Donald Trump) stated that the encouraging letter left to him by former President Biden before leaving the White House was highly optimistic. Trump jokingly told reporters that he might reveal this “very good” letter at some point.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Trump was asked about the letter and replied, “It’s a very good letter. I can show it because I think it’s a very good letter.”

“This is the kind of letter that is somewhat uplifting. I like it, it’s well-written. (Regarding the role of the president) It’s important, very important, how significant this job is,” Trump conveyed to reporters.

Trump also added, “For him (Biden), writing this letter was a positive action. I appreciate this letter.”

He then humorously teased the reporters that he might disclose the content of the letter. Shortly afterwards, he revealed the content of the letter.

“Dear President Trump, as I leave this sacred office, I wish you and your family all the best in the coming four years. The American people – and people around the world – hope that this house can remain stable in the inevitable storms of history, and I pray that in the coming years our country will usher in a period of prosperity, peace, and dignity,” Biden wrote in the letter.

The letter was found in the Oval Office’s Resolute Desk on Monday night while Trump was signing a series of executive orders in front of a group of reporters. Fox News senior White House reporter Peter Doocy asked Trump if he discovered such a letter.

“Maybe he left it. They didn’t leave the letter on this desk? I don’t know,” Trump told Doocy. “Thank you, Peter. It might have been years before we found this thing.”

The tradition of U.S. presidents writing letters to their successors began in 1989 when Ronald Reagan left the White House after serving two terms and left a letter for the incoming President George H. W. Bush.

Biden had previously mentioned that Trump also left him a “very generous letter” when he left the White House at the end of the previous term. However, he has so far refused to share the content of the letter, citing it as a matter of personal privacy.
