Angelina Jolie Receives $80 Million Divorce Settlement, Brad Pitt’s Inner Thoughts Revealed

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, once a Hollywood power couple, have finally concluded their 8-year-long divorce battle at the end of 2024. Despite Jolie receiving an $80 million settlement, the legal dispute over the ownership rights of a French vineyard they co-owned will continue.

Jolie and Pitt, who fell in love during the filming of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2004 and got married in 2014, made headlines in Hollywood. However, their marriage only lasted for two years, and they announced their separation in 2016, leading to the lengthy divorce proceedings.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, a source recently revealed that the 61-year-old Pitt feels relieved after completing the arduous 8-year divorce battle and is looking forward to stepping into a new phase of life. The insider stated, “He (Pitt) feels comforted and looks forward to moving on in life.”

Before their marriage in 2014, the couple signed a prenuptial agreement agreeing to keep their respective pre-marriage assets and divide shared assets in case of divorce. However, the divorce favored Jolie, who received an $80 million settlement. While this amount may seem significant, it is not prohibitive for Pitt, whose net worth is around $400 million. On the other hand, Page Six reported that 48-year-old Jolie is one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, commanding fees ranging from $15 million to $22 million per project.

According to legal documents from 2018, Pitt lent $8 million to his ex-wife to purchase a luxurious mansion in Los Angeles and paid at least $9 million in child support for their six children. The source mentioned, “Jolie will repay the $8 million mortgage before January 31st.”

Pitt and Jolie jointly purchased the Chateau Miraval castle in Correns, France in 2008 to serve as their dream vineyard. However, in 2021, Jolie sold her 50% stake in the vineyard to the Stoli group’s wine division, Tenute del Mondo, for $64 million, a move that led Pitt to sue her in June 2023 for violating their agreement by selling their shared ownership without his consent. Therefore, the legal battle over the castle and vineyard ownership will continue even after their divorce.

The insider further revealed that Pitt and Jolie originally bought the castle with the intention of leaving it to their six children (three adopted and three biological), hoping that one day it would be passed on to the children to continue running, providing them with a profitable and stable future.
