Fire in Commercial Building in South Korean City, Over 300 People Rescued or Evacuated.

On the afternoon of January 3rd, around 4:37 pm, a commercial building in the Yatadong district of Pungtang in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea caught fire, with more than 300 people being rescued or self-evacuated.

According to a report by YTN Television, a commercial building on the south side of Seoul’s Seongnam City was engulfed in a large fire, with multiple people reported to be trapped inside.

After receiving reports of a fire inside the building, the fire department issued a level two response at 4:43 pm and dispatched 84 pieces of equipment along with 268 firefighters to the scene to extinguish the fire. By 6:01 pm, the fire was successfully put out.

The fire department stated that a total of more than 240 people were rescued, with over 70 individuals self-evacuating. There were more than 130 injured individuals, all suffering from minor injuries, and fortunately, there were no severe injuries reported.
