The Shen Yun North American Art Troupe arrived in the Bay Area for a performance on December 26th (last Thursday). Currently, ticket sales in several cities have either sold out or are close to selling out, with only remaining tickets available for the San Francisco shows. The organizers remind audiences who wish to enjoy the splendid performance of Shen Yun to purchase tickets for the San Francisco shows.
The organizer of Shen Yun in San Francisco, Wang Feng, stated that Shen Yun’s arrival in San Jose has sparked a ticket-buying frenzy in the Bay Area, with ticket sales exceeding 600 on the day of arrival. Currently, tickets in Folsom are completely sold out, while San Jose, Berkeley, Sacramento, and Modesto are facing high demand with ticket sales nearing full capacity.
Wang Feng added that only the shows on January 2nd (Thursday) and January 3rd (Friday) in San Francisco still have tickets available for purchase. Furthermore, the ticket prices for Thursday and Friday at the San Francisco Opera House are more affordable compared to Saturday.
Many high-tech elites in the Bay Area have been attending Shen Yun performances with their families, including Darrin Johnson, the Global Director of NVIDIA, who watched the captivating performance with his wife and mother on the evening of the 26th. He praised, “The elegant way in which Shen Yun artists move, the artistic and musical performance, and the colorful stage set are extremely rich. This is definitely a show that everyone should come to see.”
Wang Feng expressed that experiencing world-class performances in a world-class opera house and enjoying the pure beauty of art is an unparalleled pleasure in life.
The San Francisco Opera House, located in downtown San Francisco, is a renowned landmark building internationally. As the second-largest opera house in North America, it is acclaimed as one of the top opera houses in the world. Built in 1932, the San Francisco Opera House has 3,146 seats and is officially known as the War Memorial and Performing Arts Center.
In 2021, the San Francisco Opera House completed a renovation and upgrade project to provide audiences with a superior audiovisual experience. The upgraded seats offer more legroom, comfortable cushions, wider armrests for spacious seating, and added cup holders. Additionally, the theater has dedicated seating for disabled individuals and wheelchair users, further enhancing accessibility and inclusivity.
The new seat layout improves the audience’s view. Danielle St. Germain-Gordon, the interim Executive Director of the San Francisco Ballet, mentioned that by removing every other seat in a row and adopting a zig-zag arrangement, although approximately 72 seats were reduced, it significantly enhanced the viewing experience.
Furthermore, the theater’s new luxurious seat cushions, wooden backrests, and carpeting with elastic materials effectively enhance the acoustic effects. At the same time, aisle lighting fixtures have been fully upgraded, with adjustable LED lights embedded in the end seats to clearly illuminate seat markings and the floor, making it easier for audiences to find their seats.
