The event is organized by Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd, the first Nepali company authorized for commercial hot air balloon flights. The festival has attracted seasoned balloon pilots from 30 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Brazil.
Each hot air balloon offers a 40-minute flight experience, providing passengers with a panoramic view of Phewa Lake and the majestic Himalayan mountain range, including Annapurna, Machapuchare, and Dhaulagiri, at heights reaching approximately 1,500 meters above ground.
To celebrate the success of the festival, local residents dressed in traditional attire have joined in the festivities with singing and dancing at the venue. The organizers aim to showcase Nepal’s rich natural landscapes and cultural heritage to the world through this adventurous event, promoting the growth of the tourism industry. Additionally, 5% of the proceeds from the festival will be donated to charitable organizations.
Apart from hot air balloon flights, the festival grounds also feature food stalls and will host nighttime hot air balloon light shows, music performances, and cultural displays to attract more visitors.
