At 52 years old, Gao Yiyi had long been employed in Shanghai, serving in various positions such as Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, Deputy District Chief of Songjiang District, member of the Songjiang District Committee, and Deputy District Chief. In August 2020, he became the Deputy Secretary of the Baoshan District Committee, then the District Chief of Baoshan District in January 2021. Following 11 months, on November 12 of this year, the Shanghai municipal authorities officially announced that Gao Yiyi, the former Deputy Secretary of the Baoshan District Committee and former District Chief of Baoshan District, had been expelled from the party and placed under investigation.
