Christmas Tree Decorations in Taiyuan, Shanxi Mall Spark Reflection After Being Snatched.

On Christmas Eve, the Christmas tree decoration in a shopping mall in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, was severely looted, prompting people to reflect. Some analysts believe that this is the evil result of the Chinese Communist Party’s resistance to Christmas, as people lack basic understanding of Western culture.

Reports from mainland China stated that around 8 p.m. on December 24th, during a Christmas event at the Wuyue Square in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, the Christmas tree decoration in the center of the mall was looted by some customers, causing severe damage to the tree.

Videos from the scene show people pulling gift boxes, tearing off toys, climbing up, causing the Christmas tree to sway and gifts falling from above continuously… There were pushing and shoving among people, and screams were heard. Staff shouted, “Don’t move, there’s electricity inside!” but the crowd seemed indifferent. Some people opened the packaging only to find empty boxes inside, then casually threw the boxes on the ground.

The staff said they couldn’t control the crowd as there were too many people. The boxes were empty, just decorations on the tree. Why were they looted?

Mr. Zhang from Taiyuan, Shanxi, confirmed the authenticity of the incident to a reporter, saying that a friend of his had been to Wuyue Square before the incident. He believed that compared to developed coastal areas and first- and second-tier cities, the mindset of people in Shanxi is generally backward, especially during Christmas when many people tend to resist without realizing they should instead resist against other holidays like New Year’s Day, Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, and so on.

Taiyuan City, also known as “Bing,” is the ancient Jin Yang and the alternate name is Bingzhou. “We all call Taiyuan ‘Bing County’ because it’s just a big county city,” said Mr. Zhang.

Internet users expressed their thoughts, “I saw someone in a black down jacket grabbing three gifts, fortunately the crowd was not too large, otherwise it could lead to a stampede.” “It’s both funny and scary.”

“People ask, what emotions drive the residents of a provincial capital to collectively engage in such behavior? What has shaped these ‘simple’ people? And even children are participating! When will their quality improve? Getting old and looting eggs, hoarding salt, buying health supplements…”

Under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party, with evil governance, moral decay has led to the loss of compassion and humility among the Chinese people. On the 26th, a teenager made an apology video on Weibo, saying it was childish behavior and asking for forgiveness. Many netizens from Shanxi also expressed embarrassment and disappointment, “Once again, my Shanxi becomes a hot topic for negative news.”

In May of this year, the “Shanxi Taiyuan Relay Jumping Bridge Incident” made headlines, with debts and mortgages becoming unbearable burdens for people. Some netizens believe that those who have bought expensive houses burdened with loans and children’s high tuition fees are most likely to engage in such behavior, claiming pressure as their justification.

Others believe that this looting incident is a traditional act of “grabbing Peace Bags,” indicating that the Chinese people have little knowledge of Christmas culture. One moment they say, “I don’t celebrate foreign festivals!” and the next, “Don’t anyone dare grab mine! They are all mine! I love foreign festivals now!”

Christmas has long been established as a public holiday in Western societies, becoming a cultural tradition. In order to resist Western civilization, the Chinese Communist authorities have opposed Christmas for many years. This year, amidst an economic downturn, the Chinese government relaxed the control over the Christmas atmosphere in commercial activities, allowing a resurgence of Christmas celebrations across the country.

New Zealand dissident Liang Fei, in an interview with Da Ji Yuan, stated that the Christmas tree is a sacred symbol in the West, but the Chinese Communist Party has banned Christmas in recent years. Especially since Xi Jinping came to power, China has been opposing the West, practicing wolf warrior diplomacy, and today resisting Japan and tomorrow opposing the United States. In an atheistic country where the vast population is brainwashed to only believe in the Communist Party, ordinary people lack reverence for Christmas, or simply do not understand Christmas culture, making looting Christmas gifts unsurprising.

“During the Lunar New Year, I saw a supermarket display a banner that read: ‘XYZ Supermarket wishes all Chinese people a Happy New Year!’ At that moment, I couldn’t help but sigh: What is self-confidence!? What is tolerance!? This is it!” he said.
