Toll fees for New Jersey entering New York tunnels and bridges to increase starting from January 5, 2025.

Starting from January 5, 2025, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will increase tolls for vehicles using the Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, George Washington Bridge, Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge, and Outerbridge Crossing to enter New York City.

The drivers most affected by this toll increase will be those commuting between New Jersey and Staten Island via the Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge, and Outerbridge Crossing.

During off-peak hours, the toll for most vehicles, such as cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, and small trucks using E-Zpass will increase to $14.06, while the toll during peak hours will be $16.06. For those using mail payments, the toll will be $18.31.

According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s official website, peak traffic hours on weekdays are from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., while on Saturdays and Sundays, peak hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. All other times are considered off-peak hours. Additionally, trucks with dual axles and dual rear wheels/tri-axles/quad-axles/quint-axles/sext-axles will receive a 10% discount on tolls between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays.

As reported by silive.com, Staten Island residents had their bridge tolls increased earlier this year, and now faces an additional 4.4% increase in the toll rates starting next year. The previous toll rate for using the mentioned bridges to and from Staten Island at least three times in a month was $7.69, which will now rise to $8.03. Drivers making 1 to 2 trips across the bridge within a month will still be required to pay the full toll.
