Monkey steals remote control from residence, triggering distress signal causing false alarm.

In a peculiar incident in South Africa, a monkey stole a remote control from a residential home and repeatedly pressed the emergency button on it, triggering distress signals multiple times and catching the attention of a security company. Several teams were dispatched to investigate, only to ultimately discover that it was a false alarm.

According to a recent post on Facebook by the security company, on the morning of December 26th, the company’s control center received numerous emergency distress signals from a household in Northdale.

The company believed that the customer must be in distress, prompting them to dispatch several teams to the customer’s residence to assess the situation.

Upon arrival of the first team, the customer explained that a monkey had entered the house and snatched a remote control with an emergency button.

The monkey, after escaping outside, repeatedly pressed the emergency button, causing the distress signals to continuously transmit to the company. The signals only ceased when the monkey ran out of the reception range.

In this rare event, the customer decided to let the monkey go with its booty and did not request the security company to pursue it. The company’s staff found humor in the situation and prepared to provide the customer with a new emergency button for future needs.
