Chinese Communist Party assembles large number of warships to cause trouble for Taiwan; Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense releases surveillance video.

On December 13, 2024, the Chinese Communist Party announced the establishment of seven air defense identification zones in the eastern region of the country. In response, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China posted a video titled “Preparedness is Key” on Facebook today, showcasing surveillance footage of the Chinese navy vessels Xiangtan, Kaifeng, and others, stressing the determination to defend national security.

The Chinese Communist Party designated seven reserve zones in the airspace off the coast of Zhejiang and Fujian provinces from the 9th to the 11th. The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated on the 9th that the contingency center had been set up in the morning and all units were instructed to closely monitor enemy activities, maintain a high state of alert, and initiate military drills simultaneously.

According to the Military News Agency, General Mei Jiashu, the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of China’s Ministry of National Defense, visited the contingency center at the Ministry of National Defense on the 12th to receive reports on the movements of Chinese Communist forces near the Taiwan Strait and the current situation. He ordered the closure of all contingency centers at various levels and instructed the entire military to continue using joint intelligence surveillance methods to closely monitor the movements of the Chinese Communist forces and safeguard national security.

During the meeting, Mei Jiashu first commended the hard work of the personnel at the contingency center, praised the dedication of the soldiers in military readiness, and reminded everyone to remain vigilant at all times to deal with unforeseen circumstances, fulfill their duties as national defense forces, and collectively uphold regional peace and stability.

Mei Jiashu stated that responding to the current situation and conducting realistic combat exercises is the responsibility that the military must fulfill. With the establishment of capabilities and a firm resolve, the officers and soldiers have demonstrated their confidence in defending national security. By coordinating with the opening of the contingency center, various levels of commanders are honing their ability to fully grasp operational mechanisms and more efficiently command the troops, thereby accumulating valuable military achievements.

He emphasized that the threats from the Chinese Communist forces to Taiwan and the region are complex and constantly changing. Commanders at all levels must adjust their operational concepts in response to the enemy situation to adapt to various emergencies and battlefield environments. Only by strengthening military preparedness and continuously enhancing combat capabilities can the national defense forces deter wars with like-minded countries, safeguard national sovereignty, and uphold the values of democracy and freedom.

Regarding the recent provocations by Chinese Communist vessels near Taiwan, the Ministry of National Defense revealed in the video surveillance footage of various navy vessels monitoring the Xiangtan (531), Kaifeng (DDG-124), Guilin (164), Huaihua (566), and Xiangyang (567) of the Chinese Communist forces.
