In China, the issue of secret filming is becoming increasingly prevalent. Following the discovery of cameras in hotels, hospital changing rooms, shopping mall fitting rooms, and amusement park bathrooms, a case emerged in Jiangxi Jiujiang where cameras were found installed in a kindergarten restroom. Shockingly, the cameras were set up by the kindergarten staff themselves, leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible.
On December 8th, a prominent blogger specializing in uncovering hidden cameras, known as “Shadow Doesn’t Lie,” released a video showcasing the process of finding mini cameras in a nursery in Jiujiang City. In the video, the blogger questioned the morality of installing cameras in places like counseling rooms and restrooms, asking, “How is this for counseling?”
Upon being caught by kindergarten staff, a physical altercation occurred, with the nursery personnel detaining the blogger’s team and preventing them from leaving. The incident was reported to the police, who subsequently removed the cameras.
In the video, “Shadow Doesn’t Lie” revealed that after posting the video, numerous tips were received regarding the camera installation scheme. Members of the secret filming group were discussing ways to prevent dismantling the cameras. Screenshots and video clips were shared, including one containing a QR code.
The decoded QR code revealed a numerical sequence, allegedly linked to a user account for camera access permissions. Through further investigation, it was discovered that the individual associated with the account matched a member of the nursery management team named Shao Zhenyu.
According to informed netizens, the involved kindergarten is the Wulitao Liyuan Central Kindergarten in Jiujiang City. The illicitly filmed videos had already circulated online, with the QR code shared in the secret filming group identifying the perpetrator as Shao Zhenyu, the deputy head of the nursery.
On December 8th, Lianxi Police in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, reported that they received a complaint on November 28th regarding a mini camera found in the restroom of an early education institution. Following the report, police officers arrived at the scene, secured evidence, removed the cameras, and arrested the suspect, Shao (male, 32 years old), on December 5th. The case is currently under investigation.
This incident has sparked significant attention and discussion on social media platforms.
Netizens commented, expressing shock over the decoding of the cellphone number and matching it to a member of the nursery management team. Some remarked on the conflict that ensued, questioning the extent of the kindergarten director’s knowledge regarding the situation. The revelation of kindergarten management being involved in secret filming garnered strong reactions from online users, who deemed their response as anything but typical for being caught with cameras.
Due to the prevalence of such incidents, concerns have been raised about the impact on individuals’ peace of mind and privacy. The frequency of such violations has left people feeling anxious even during routine activities like resting at hotels while on business trips, leading to nightmares and a constant state of vigilance.
Calls have been made for thorough investigation into the secret filming industry, identifying everyone involved in the installation, monitoring, and purchasing of such devices, with demands for holding all guilty parties accountable. Netizens expressed gratitude towards the blogger for shedding light on these issues and urged them to prioritize personal safety.
