New York City Mayor Adams does not rule out the possibility of switching to the Republican Party.

New York City Mayor, Democrat Eric Adams did not rule out the possibility of switching to the Republican Party in two interviews on Friday, December 6th.

According to Politico, Adams was a member of the Republican Party from 1995 to 2002. During an interview with NY1, when asked if he would return to the Republican Party, he did not directly deny this possibility. Subsequently, in an interview with PIX11, Adams once again remained ambiguous about his political affiliation.

Adams stated, “Regardless of which party I belong to or who I vote for, I will promote American values.”

He advocates for officials to transcend party boundaries and work together to solve the issues faced by the electorate.

When asked if he would run for re-election next year as a Democrat, Adams gave the routine response, “That’s my plan. I have been a Democrat for many years and will run for re-election as a Democrat.”

However, he also sent a clear message to his opponents, “Those who don’t like me, they will resist me. I say: resist me if you must, I am here for America.”

Adams has had ongoing disagreements with the Democratic Party on immigration issues. He is set to meet with the incoming Border Czar, Tom Homan, next week to discuss plans to deport undocumented immigrants. Adams stated he would support any federal plans targeting undocumented immigrants who have committed serious crimes.
