In the past four years, there has been an unprecedented surge in the number of illegal immigrants from China, with an increase of over 1100%. Behind this surge lies a vast underground economic network, which investigative journalist Philip Lenczycki believes is just the tip of the iceberg, as revealed by his investigation.
Lenczycki has been researching the illegal immigration network from China, focusing on a Telegram online channel with thousands of users. This channel serves as a hub for facilitating illegal entry, providing travel guides, specific border crossing points, detailed routes, and scripts for interacting with border patrol agents and applying for asylum. Lenczycki discovered that the channel was operated by an individual claiming to be a Chinese network policeman.
Describing the channel as “America Self-Help Travel Sharing Group,” the journalist revealed that it caters specifically to Chinese illegal immigrants by offering detailed travel guides and routes within the U.S., making border crossings more convenient for them. Furthermore, the channel provides talking points to respond to border patrol agents’ questions, all managed by a person claiming to be a Chinese (CCP) policeman.
Additionally, Lenczycki found key figures in the network engaged in prostitution and sex trafficking activities in the United States. His investigations began after he stumbled upon a Chinese citizen’s phone near the border, leading to a series of in-depth inquiries.
According to Lenczycki, the influx of illegal immigrants from Communist China has significantly increased in recent years, with a more than 1100% surge. The numbers grew threefold over the past three years, from over 20,000 individuals to the latest figure of 72,000 for the current fiscal year. These illegal entrants mainly come through the southern border but also include those crossing from the northern border.
As the journalist delved deeper into the contents discovered on the phone, he found a photo of a travel itinerary. Subsequently, linking this to a Telegram channel, he uncovered a series of detailed travel guides offering assistance to Chinese illegal immigrants crossing into the U.S. from different countries.
These guides even highlighted border gaps, with over ten different border crossings identified, primarily in California but also in Arizona and New Mexico. The channel revealed an organized effort to navigate through these gaps to enter the U.S.
The journalist noted that the Telegram channel provided various materials, including charts and dialogue scripts aiming to create a credible fear threat, helping individuals seek asylum successfully in the U.S. The channel’s operations demonstrated a deep understanding of the country’s immigration system and how to navigate potential border encounters.
Moreover, the network had active members engaging in prostitution and human trafficking, illustrating the presence of a vast underground economic network intertwined with the illegal immigration operation. Lenczycki believed this revelation was just scratching the surface, hinting at more extensive implications of the issue.
Continuing his exploration, the journalist added that the Telegram channel still functions, indicating awareness of the published articles discussing its operations. Despite requesting comments from Telegram, no response was received, highlighting the presence of similar activities on other encrypted platforms.
Lenczycki concluded by emphasizing the importance of further investigation into how this network infiltrated the U.S., hinting at potential connections with illegal marijuana cultivation and other covert operations. He stressed the necessity of ongoing scrutiny regarding any attempts by the CCP to influence U.S. internal affairs.
