Trump nominates New Jersey real estate tycoon as U.S. ambassador to France.

On December 1st, 2024, American President-elect Donald Trump nominated New Jersey real estate tycoon Charles Kushner to be the United States Ambassador to France.

Kushner, who is Trump’s father-in-law, is the father of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.

On Saturday, November 30th, Trump announced this news on the media platform “Truth Social”.

Trump stated that Kushner is an outstanding business leader, philanthropist, and dealmaker who will firmly represent America and defend its interests.

Kushner is the founder and chairman of Kushner Companies, one of the largest and most successful private real estate companies in the United States. He has been recognized by Ernst & Young as the Entrepreneur of the Year in New Jersey, appointed as a member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, and served as a commissioner and chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as well as a board member of institutions including New York University.

“Congratulations to Charlie (referring to Charles Kushner), his beautiful wife Seryl Kushner, their four children, and 14 grandchildren,” Trump wrote.

Trump specifically mentioned his son-in-law Jared, praising his close collaboration during his first term, especially in initiatives like “Operation Warp Speed” during the COVID pandemic, criminal justice reform, and the achievement of the Abraham Accords in the Middle East.

“We will strengthen the partnership between the United States and France together. France is one of our oldest and greatest allies!” Trump added.
