Recently, a video shared by internet users showed that a large truck caught on fire on the Shanghai-Shenhai Expressway.

The video depicted thick smoke billowing from the scene with flames engulfing the entire truck. Another video revealed that after the blaze, the vehicle and its cargo were completely destroyed by the fire.

According to a report from Xinmin Evening News on the evening of November 25th, a semi-trailer truck fire occurred on the G15 Shenhai Expressway in the direction of Jiangsu near the Yexin Highway Toll Station at 10:13 am on November 24th.

Witnesses described that a truck carrying plastic products caught fire and burned. “The vehicle caught fire on the far right emergency lane, and flames were seen jumping from the front.” Due to the plastic products loaded in the back of the truck, the fire quickly spread. The truck driver immediately got off the vehicle and called the emergency hotline for assistance.

Some passing internet users mentioned that the fire on the scene was “hard to put out”. One observer noted, “Even with two lanes separating, you could feel the heat without opening the windows.”

Another internet user from Henan commented on the video section, stating that the truck belonged to their boss. They received a call at 10 am on the 24th, informing them that their vehicle was on fire.

It was reported that the fire was finally extinguished at 3:23 pm on the same day. The accident resulted in the complete destruction of the front of the semi-trailer truck, with multiple tires burnt. The cargo onboard was also consumed by the fire, with the melted plastic products dripping onto the road, sticking to the asphalt after cooling. The fire also damaged the sound barrier on the right side of the highway section. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Currently, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
