Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris may accept an interview with popular podcaster Joe Rogan in an effort to gain support from male voters, according to sources on Monday (October 14). Rogan’s audience consists mainly of young males.
It is reported that Harris’ campaign team has met with Rogan’s team this week as the U.S. presidential election enters its final stages, but it is not confirmed whether Harris herself will agree to the interview.
Rogan operates one of the most popular podcasts in the United States, boasting millions of loyal fans.
Harris is currently making efforts to secure support from male voters, especially black males. This interview would provide her with an opportunity to promote herself to Rogan’s fan base.
Several polls indicate that Republican candidate Donald Trump may lead Harris in support among young males of various ethnicities.
On Monday, the Vice President released a series of new policy proposals to attract black male voters, and her campaign is intensifying efforts to appeal to this typical Democratic voting demographic.
In addition, her campaign team announced that she will also be interviewed by Fox News, a media outlet known for its conservative leaning and usually explicit support for Trump. This move signifies Harris stepping out of the so-called “ideological comfort zone” as the election cycle nears its end.
Harris has previously appeared on the podcast “Call her Daddy” with host Alex Cooper and on “All the Smoke” hosted by former NBA players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes.
Trump has clearly stated his plans to participate in Joe Rogan’s podcast show before Election Day on November 5.
Trump and Rogan have had conflicts in the past. In August this year, Trump criticized Rogan on his social media platform “Truth Social”, but later referred to him as a “good guy”.
Trump praised Rogan on “Full Send” podcast by the Nelk Boys, saying he has a “great voice” and expressed willingness to have a chat with him, emphasizing Rogan’s honesty.
During a conversation with host Kyle Forgeard, Trump indicated his willingness to accept Rogan’s interview, indicating that he would indeed accept the invitation.
Trump has had conversations with podcast hosts Theo Von, Logan Paul, and comedian Andrew Schulz, as well as financial expert David Ramsey.
Rogan stated in 2022 that he is not a supporter of Trump and in August this year, he expressed a preference for independent third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to run for president. Kennedy later withdrew from the presidential race and declared support for Trump.
A YouGov poll last year showed that 81% of Rogan’s audience are male, with 56% aged 35 and below, possibly indicating a segment of young Kennedy supporters who may favor Trump.
In March this year, Spotify confirmed that “the Joe Rogan Experience” has 14.5 million followers, nearly three times as popular as the platform’s second most popular program. He also has over 19 million followers on Instagram and over 17 million on YouTube.
Earlier this year, Rogan struck a new deal with Spotify estimated to be worth up to $250 million.
Rogan warned that if people “give into the bulls” like never before, Harris will emerge victorious.
The upcoming interviews with Rogan may boost both Harris and Trump. Current polls show a fiercely competitive race between the two candidates, with the outcome potentially hinging on the results of seven swing states.
Since the formation of the Harris-Walz ticket, Trump and his running mate, Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance, have reportedly been interviewed at least 72 times, while the Democratic presidential ticket has undergone at least 38 unplanned interviews.
