Former Democrats Kennedy and Gabbard join Trump transition team.

Recently, independent third-party presidential candidate endorsed by former President Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Hawaii federal congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard have been included in Donald Trump’s presidential transition team.

On Tuesday, August 27, Brian Hughes, Trump’s senior campaign adviser, stated in a press release, “With President Trump’s extensive coalition of supporters and endorsers crossing partisan lines continuing to expand, we are proud to have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard join the Trump-Vance transition team. We look forward to them bringing a strong voice to the team to help us restore the greatness of America.”

Gabbard announced her support for the former president on Monday, August 26, while attending a gathering of the Michigan National Guard Association, stating that Trump “can once again serve as our commander-in-chief.” Trump also spoke at the event.

Gabbard left the Democratic Party in 2022 and has since become a frequent guest in conservative media. She ran in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary and has experience debating on stage with Vice President Harris.

Currently, Gabbard is preparing for the upcoming debates between Trump and Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris next month.

Kennedy suspended his independent presidential campaign last Friday, August 23, to endorse Trump instead. He mentioned that his name will still appear on the ballots in most swing states, but he has withdrawn from 10 battleground states that could decide the election outcome.

In a recent interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Kennedy revealed, “I was asked to join the transition team, you know, to help pick who will manage the government, and I’m looking forward to it.”

When asked about his plans leading up to Election Day – which is just 70 days away now – Kennedy told Carlson that he will be working to get Trump elected.

Earlier this month, Trump announced the leadership of his transition team, which will lay the foundation for his personnel and policy decisions after winning in November.

The transition team that Kennedy and Gabbard have joined also includes Linda McMahon, co-founder and former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, who served as Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) during Trump’s first term, as well as Howard Lutnick, CEO of financial company Cantor Fitzgerald.

Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, will serve as honorary chairman, while Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump will also serve as honorary chairmen.
